Long Time Friend of AIT Goes Home…

LARRY STINSONA long time friend of Adventures In Truth has gone on to be with the Lord and rather than mourning his passing…he would have wanted us to celebrate his Homecoming with Christ because he told us recently he was ready.   Larry Stinson, the owner & master jeweler at Gold n’ Memories Jewelry in the Old Mill Shopping Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee went home on Tuesday after a long battle with leukemia.   Larry was the man behind the well-known “Last Drop of Blood” jewelry and was also the designer of the Numbers 10 Trumpets that AIT had available several years ago.   He will be missed but his work will live on for many years to come.   He was such an inspiration to all of us at Adventures In Truth and our prayers to Melinda and the family!   http://www.adventuresintruth.org

NOAH’S ARK IN KENTUCKY!

The Ark Encounter Phase 1 is near completion and plans are still in place to open sometime in July of this year.  Yes; the Ark Encounter park, a part of Answers In Genesis and the Creation Museum, will be opening as a biblical themed amusement and educational park in July.  This will be a part of two or more phases with huge additions over the next couple of years.  This full size replica of Noah’s Ark will be the largest all wood structure on earth and it’s come a long ways in such a short amount of time.  Hope you are making your plans to visit the Ark Encounter this summer near Williamsburg, Kentucky.   It’s a monumental structure to share a monumental true story of God’s promise to us all!   1)  Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis & Jim Rankin of Adventures In Truth with early Ark construction.  2) More recent photo of Ark’s construction.  3)  Promotion for the Ark Encounter.    Don’t forget to visit our website at http://www.adventuresintruth.org.

A Jurassic Size Itch!

Yes; A Jurassic Size Itch!   Or at least that’s what it could be in multiple ways.  During our explorations in Ethiopia recently there were hundreds of these towers all over the fields in all kinds of sizes and shapes.   Larger animals use these as scratching posts as they are as solid as rocks…but in actuality they are huge termite mounds strewn throughout the landscape.  Wouldn’t want to hang out around these too long!   http://www.adventuresintruth.orgJIM & TERMITES AWASA

INDIANA JONES IS BACK!

INDIANA'S BACK

(Follow Our Blog & Invite Your Friends)  Exciting news came from Disney CEO, Bob Iger during an interview with Bloomberg News.  Iger said, “…Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming, we have more great stories.”   The time period for the release and the plot are still to be announced.  Disney now owns the Star Wars franchise and in the acquisition they also purchased the Indiana Jones series.  It appears as though Harrison Ford will return as Indy along with an underdetermined cast as of today….

Great News as we head into the new year…Happier New Year To All!

Indiana Jones Adventure!

During our travels to Washington D.C., where we board our plane for Ethiopia, we took time out to visit the National Geographic Indiana Jones Archeological exhibit.   The exhibit featured props and costumes from all of the Indy films along with actual archeological artifacts discovered in finds around the globe.  It was awesome and hopefully it will eventually travel to a location near you.   You can imagine my reaction when I saw the Ark of the Covenant used in the film.  “Hey…I thought that was in a warehouse in Washington somewhere?”

THE SECRETS SAVED FOR US….

WRIGHT BROTHERS DISCOVER QUOTEWRIGHT BROTHERS AT KITTY HAWK

Those who are around me know that I’m a big fan of the Wright Brothers.   Their background began in church with their father, the Bishop Milton Wright, and they built their life from the faith they came to know in their early years.   I always felt a bond with these two brothers but known like when I walked by a wall that was papered with a quote from Orville Wright that really put our life into perspective based on what God is doing in our work and ministry at this time…..Check out the photo and see what brought me to tears.  The same is true with us!    http://www.adventuresintruth.org    BE SURE TO FOLLOW OUR BLOG!

GREAT CHIEF HELD IN HONOR!

GERONIMO 5(Read to the end for the wild finale’) (Follow this blog for a crazy adventure) During our travels to Oklahoma the Adventures Team obtained passes to enter Fort Sill, the U.S. Army base noted for their combat and arms training located in the prairie land south of Oklahoma City.   Far off from the actual military buildings and out in the prairie land is a wooded area where we found a fenced in cemetery next to a stream.  The burial ground was an Apache & Comanche Indian cemetery and this is where you will find the burial site of the great Apache Chief Geronimo.   Along with him are many of his family including his wife and children as well as many warriors who helped him defend his land and people and other chiefs and family.  You will also find the grave of Jason Betzinez, the Apache warrior turned missionary to the Apaches and Geronimo himself.  At sundown a native American  comes to close the gates and then re-opens it at sunrise.   Fort Sills is where Geronimo spent his final days.   ALSO:  We found never to use the GPS here…As we left we ended up down a gravel rutted road and finally into a military arms training zone.   You talk about flying…that’s what we did in a sliding turnaround and back out the other way!   http://www.adventuresintruth.org
